Twenty-Five Weeks From Now

Time continues to pass at HBR, and all is well. Last weekend was my first weekend off of this semester, and it turned out to be wonderfully relaxing and fun. This week is the same old kind of busy. Yesterday (Tuesday) we had a meeting in the morning, I went in to town to pick up a few things from the school, I whipped up some no-bake cookies to serve as a snack when guys came home, I relaxed for a few hours in the afternoon, I did dishes, I ate dinner with the guys, and hung out with a few of them in my room as they studied at night. Today (Wednesday) was my co-worker Andrew's birthday so a battle ensued after dinner, and he ended up getting creeked. Tomorrow, I have to wake up at 6:45 to prepare breakfast, run kids in to the school at 7:30, take Marc in for a doctor's appointment at 9:00, I have a Bible study at 10:00, I'm going out to lunch with a few important people, and it's my laundry day so I'll be doing a lot of folding. Hopefully, I can fit in a nap. Next week will be more of the same. Fifteen weeks from now, our BFA seniors will be graduates, and seventeen weeks from now, I'll be seeing my family for the first time in eleven months.

Twenty-five weeks from now is what my mind has been dwelling on often this semester. That is when the new BFA staff should be arriving, orientation will be starting, and the new school year will be getting underway. As of about a month ago, there were no male applicants for the RA position, and they were having trouble finding dorm parents for this coming year for which there are a couple openings. Basically, there are always a lot of job openings every year at BFA from teachers to RA's to support staff. Check out http://www.bfacademy.com/staffopen.asp and scroll down to look at the major needs for next year. I think there is now one guy officially applying to be an RA, but the lack of applicants is a little scary and especially concerning for Tommy and Timmy and I, the only male RA's slated to be back next year. This is where you come in. Drop whatever is going on in your life right now and come work for Black Forest Academy! Just kidding. But you can be praying for those whom God is preparing right now as I type this to bring to BFA for the 09-10 school year. Some of them don't even know it yet. But yep, they're coming, and their lives are about to be completely changed. Pray that they would have courage to continue forward in the process and would have peace in their decision. Pray for their financial support and for the major transition that will be taking place in their lives.

I have no doubt whatsoever that God will provide for this coming year and for specific reasons will bring unique individuals here, placing them right where they need to be in this school. I look forward to hearing stories from people I haven't met yet about how God has been abundantly faithful to them and to be able to see them at times struggling and at times victorious as they adjust to their new life and ministry. I'm already seeing God at work answering prayers for next year. And I do look forward to that time, but I won't get ahead of myself. Right now I'm content to look forward to tomorrow and the opportunities I have right now.

Thank you for your love and prayers.
